Field note · The substance

Sport rules apply away from competition too.

Keep the rulebook question separate from the care question.

The ban is not limited to an event

For the list in force during 2026, the World Anti-Doping Agency names TB-500 among substances prohibited both during and outside competition.

January 1, 2027 is the effective date for the replacement list, which retains the TB-500 entry. The checks of both sports lists are dated September 30, 2026.

College sport has its own list

The US college sports body, the NCAA, names TB-500 on its 2026–27 banned-substance list. That is a separate record from the world anti-doping list.

Ask the sports organisation that governs you which rules apply. Keep its written reply with your care questions. A general answer about workplace testing does not answer a question about your sport.

Do not turn a laboratory method into a timetable

Published lab work describes ways to find TB-500 and the smaller parts left when it breaks apart. Some methods were checked using horse samples. Those tests cannot tell how long TB-500 could be found in a person.

Take a question about the applicable rules to your sports body before relying on an offer’s assurance.

If an offer says a substance is permitted, ask which rule and date support that statement. Ask the relevant sports body to address that exact claim rather than relying on a broad assurance about peptides.
